I was born in Oak Park,
Illinois on August 31, 1931. I spent much of the next years in
Wisconsin visiting my grandparents, finally moving there in 1947. I was
graduated from Merrill High School in 1949, then attended the
University of Illinois earning a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1953.
I
enlisted in the army and attended Infantry Officer Candidate School in
Georgia. The next two years were spent in the Army Security
Agency in Arlington, Virginia.
My
career was spent employed in the telephone industry where I retired
with 39 years, 9 months service. I worked in engineering,
computers, accounting, defense projects and manufacturing.
I've
lived in Illinois, Wisconsin, New York, Georgia, New Jersey, Maryland,
Massachusetts and Virginia.
I began
substitute teaching in the Merrill school system about 13 years
ago. I have taught mathematics at St. Francis for six years.
My
hobbies include cooking, wine tasting, woodworking, and
renovation. I enjoy most types of music, but big band and
classical are my favorites.
I am
married and have two children and four grandchildren.
