History

Catholic education has been a part of the Merrill community since the late 19th century originally as a single parish school, later growing to two parish schools, a system and most recently a single parish school.

The presence and dedication of the Racine Dominican Sisters at St. Francis Xavier and the Merrill Holy Cross Sisters at St. Robert Bellarmine has had a great influence on Merrill Catholic education. Today St. Francis Xavier is home to students from age 3 through grade 8.
