Hi, I'm Patricia Novy. I grew up in the northwoods
over by Phillips. Upon graduating my plans were to
join the Air Force, become a pilot, major in Physics,
become a part of NASA, and eventually walk on the moon.
As is the way of life, God had His own plans for me. I
did keep to my science studies but found myself in a
tiny quonset hut on Okinawa as a teacher. That year I
learned that I am a teacher, no matter what or where.
I am also a mother. My greatest achievements, my
daughter, Erica, and my son, Brian, didn't take to the
cold northern winters. They are on their own and
living in Florida.
Continuing my travels, I have explored the jungles of
South and Central America, the mountains of Macchu
Pichu, the deserts of Peru, the volcanoes of
Guatamala, and the history (and food!) of Europe. I
try to bring all that I experience into the classroom,
hopefully sparking interest in the differences and
similarities that abound between the peoples of the
earth.
My passion remains science and this year I feel
fortunate to be able to share this passion with the
middle school here at St. Francis.
