My husband, Willi, and I moved to Merrill just over 5 years ago.
Willi works at Semco as Network Administrator. We have one
daughter, Adeline, who will turn 5 in December.
This is my third year teaching in the parochial schools and my eighth
year teaching instrumental music (a.k.a. band). Besides teaching
at St. Francis, I also teach at Trinity and St. John Schools.
Before moving to Merrill, I taught Band for grades 5-8 in the
Marshfield Area Catholic Schools and K-12 Music in the Mercer School
District. After moving to Merrill, I substitute taught in the
public schools for three (school) years.
I
grew up in Cottage Grove, WI (a small town northeast of Madison).
I went to Monona Grove High School where I played in both band and
orchestra. I also participated in our schools jazz bands and pep
band. Non-music activities I was involved with were Forensics and
National Honor Society. For all four years of high school I
played the bassoon in the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras (WYSO).
After graduating from high school, I pursued my degree in music
education at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. I received a Bachelor
of Music degree in Music Education in May 2000. In college, I was
a member of the Residence Hall Association (RHA). I also sang
with our church choir and participated in our college-age youth group.
Currently, I play bassoon with the Wausau Symphonic Band and in the pit
orchestra for some of the Wausau Community Theater musical
productions. I direct the choir at my church and teach Sunday
School for grades four through six.
