We believe that Jesus Christ is truly present in the Eucharist. This is why Vatican II called the Eucharist “the source and summit of Christian life.” We believe this because Jesus said, “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.” The children who will be receiving the Eucharist for the first time need to know that Jesus Christ is truly present in body, blood, soul and divinity, in the Eucharist. Those who wish to have a child receive First Communion must meet the following requirements:
Child must be a registered member of St. Francis Xavier Parish
Will receive the sacrament of Penance prior to their first communion
If the child was not baptized at St. Francis Xavier parish, the child’s parents will provide a baptismal certificate from the parish where he or she was baptized
Religious Education: 6th - 8th Grade
