St. Francis Xavier Cemetery

  • Located one block north of Hwy 64 on Memorial Drive in the city of Merrill, WI

  • St. Francis Cemetery is a 20 acre property owned by St. Francis Xavier Parish with maintenance of the grounds included with every lot

  • Established in 1885 with over 4000 funerals recorded

  • Records of cemetery are Parish recorded with permanent documents on every lot and internment

  • St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church is available for all funeral services

  • Landscape of cemetery is wooded, well drained with newly planted Memorial trees each year


Veteran's Memorial
  • St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church is pleased to be able to honor Merrill area veterans with a new veteran’s memorial. This is made possible by the donation of land from the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.

  • A memorial garden is being planned with a monument, bench, memorial tiles, flags, and a cannon that was given Mayor D.B. Reinhart by Congressman A.P. Nelson in 1920.

  • 135 burial plots are being reserved specifically for veterans and their spouse. (Contact St. Francis Xavier Church to purchase a plot)

  • Memorial tiles may be purchased for $50.00 each and are 8” x 12” and will be engraved with the veteran’s name, years of service and branch of the military served.

  • To purchase tiles or to make donations towards the memorial, contact Leroy Fisher at Leroy’s Hair Care Center 724 E. 2nd Street Merrill, 715-536-2048. All donations should be made payable to “St. Francis Xavier Cemetery Veterans Memorial”.
